Buying Jewellery
Humphrey Butler can advise buyers on prospective purchases at all levels both from within his own stock of period jewellery and at public auction, for those collectors of vintage items who require reassurance from an independent third party. He will also search for and acquire specific items and particular stones on a client’s behalf.
A full and varied selection of jewellery, both period and contemporary, is available for sale on the premises at all prices from £500 upwards and we are able to deal with any request at consistently competitive rates. The stock always includes a number of diamond and gemset engagement rings ranging from the conventional single stone to the more unusual.
Selling Jewellery
Humphrey Butler works closely with those clients wishing to dispose of jewellery of any value, providing total discretion and a viable alternative to public auction, where sale opportunities are becoming more limited. The company either accepts pieces on a commission basis or buys direct. While much of the business is conducted on commission – whereby pieces are offered to prospective buyers on an agreed percentage fee – funds are always available when required for the immediate purchase of individual vintage or modern items or entire collections.
